Part Time RN Supervisor 3rd shift

Job Description:

Supervises delivery of resident care in Continuing Care, ensuring staffing and resident care standards are followed while on shift. Reviews documentation in medical records to ensure compliance with regulations and nursing standards of practice. Participates in the on-call process as needed.

Essential Duties:
* Performs walking rounds to ensure nursing staff provide the highest level of resident care.
* Reviews and adjusts nursing staffing to meet established PPD.
* Assists in resolving resident/family concerns and grievances.
* Assists clinical staff in assessing and resolving clinical changes in condition.
* Reviews resident medical records to ensure completion of admission paper and incident follow-up.
* Leads investigations for injuries of unknown origin, medication errors, and abuse allegations.
* Completes supervisory reports as required.
* Provides coaching and counseling as indicated.

Requirements:
* Excellent listening and communication skills.
* Ability to oversee staff, residents, and resident families.
* Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and multitask.
* Computer skills.
* Exceptional customer service and leadership skills.

Education and Experience:
* Registered Nurse graduate from an accredited school, BSN preferred.
* Basic computer skills required, including experience with Microsoft office, internet, and web applications.
* Experience with electronic medical records preferred.
* Minimum of 1-3 years' floor nurse experience in skilled nursing, long-term care, assisted living, or hospital.
* Prior supervisory experience is preferred but not required.

Physical Demands:
* Frequently required to stand, walk, use hands to finger/handle objects, and reach with hands and arms.
* Occasionally required to sit, climb/balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl; and talk/hear.
* Specific vision abilities required include close vision, distance vision, color vision, and depth perception.

OSHA Occupational Exposure Category:
* This position falls into OSHA Occupational Exposure Category III and requires the use of protective equipment.
