The digital assets team in Mastercard is executing on the bold vision of delivering a new payment capability for financial institutions and corporates to enable Digital Assets commerce. Our focus will be partnering with FIs and Asset tokenization marketplaces to enable innovative, real-time, cross-border payments using tokenized deposits, stablecoins, and modern settlement systems.We're looking for someone to join our fast-paced team to build relationships with key Digital Asset Issuers, Infrastructure providers and get them enrolled in our products and solutions. This is a global role based in one of our offices in New York or San Francisco.Role - In this high-profile, customer-facing position you will:
- Develop a partnership with Digital asset ecosystem providers to incorporate Mastercard solutions in the digital assets, cross-border payment space specifically our Multi Token Network and crypto credential products.
- Develop a deep understanding of key partner strategies in this space that delivers scale in terms of incremental payment volume.
- Develop a deep understanding of our products/capabilities in this space including Multi-token Network, Crypto Credential, and related complimentary products and services in Mastercard.
- Partner with internal teams including account management, product management, and other enabling organizations to effectively show up as one team in front of the partners.
- Lead all aspects of partner proposals and deal execution (including business case development, commercial terms structuring, negotiations, and legal contracting) in close collaboration with key business partners (e.g., finance, legal, product, engineering) and regional teams.All About You:
- Experience & track record: Minimum of 10+ years in business development, partnerships, or strategic alliances within the payments or fintech sectors. Proven track record of establishing and scaling partnerships with the Digital Asset ecosystem. Need to be able to point to multiple successful commercial relationships established with front-line experience negotiating contracts.
- Networking Abilities: Proven ability to build and maintain a network of industry contacts, including regulators, technology providers, and potential partners.
- Innovation Mindset: Ability to drive innovation by identifying new use cases for tokenization and developing unique value propositions for clients.
- Customer-Centric Approach: Strong focus on understanding customer needs and delivering tailored solutions that enhance customer experience and satisfaction.
- Regulatory Knowledge: In-depth understanding of global regulatory frameworks and compliance requirements specific to digital assets and tokenization. This includes staying updated with the latest regulatory changes and their implications on the business.
- Technical Proficiency: Hands-on experience with blockchain technology, smart contracts, digital wallets, and asset tokenization. Familiarity with token standards (e.g., ERC-20, ERC-721) and blockchain platforms (e.g., Ethereum, Hyperledger) can be advantageous.
- Analytical Skills: Strong analytical and problem-solving skills to assess market trends, identify opportunities, and develop data-driven strategies.
- Risk Management: Experience in partnering with the internal risk team to identify and mitigate risks associated with digital asset transactions, including cybersecurity threats and operational risks in partner engagements.
- Travel: Willingness to travel domestically and internationally
for meeting partners and attending industry events.Mastercard is an
